Hosted by Katherine Curnow aka KC and backed by the slammin' Workshop house band, Workshop will bring to our fair city the freshest vibe and showcase Perth’s finest vocalists. //
We are in our FIFTH YEAR! Happy birthday to us! So, with that milestone, it is only fitting that we bring our brothers back from Colab to help us celebrate. Call it a tradition, if you will.
Five years. 54 jam sessions. 35 featured vocalists (with some repeat appearances), 28 instrumentalists. Five charities/not-for-profit organisations supported through part proceeds of door sales. Five years of VIBES.
The idea behind Workshop came from the concept of community, connection and the desire to showcase all of the amazing vocal talent this city has to offer. Not just the same faces either, really give others a platform to showcase their talent. KC wanted to bring together a diverse roster of vocalists and instrumentalists from all the different pockets of the local music community and create a space that to not only bring them together to meet, play and hear new musicians but also give up-and-comers an opportunity to get their foot in the door and learn from the more established and seasoned players.
It's been said many a time but it's been a vibe but it's time to say farewell, so this birthday celebration will also mark the last Workshop jam session... come through to wish us "happy 5 years but make it goodbye!"
