PJS is proud to present a double bill performance by 2 local bands. Mrstrio led by pianist Hanna Kim and Phoebus Cartel led by saxophonist Claire Keet.
Mrstrio plays music composed by pianist Hanna Kim, and have been playing music together since Hanna moved to Perth 4 years ago.Band leader Hanna Kim was born in South Korea and started studying the piano at the age of six. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Piano Performance is Seoul Art College in Korea. Since arriving in Perth she has performed at various jazz venues and festivals.
Mrstrio features Francisco Javier Munoz Melo and Dario Jiritano on the drums and the bass guitar, respectively. They both graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and have been actively engaged in a variety of musical activities in Perth. They contribute to improving the completeness of Hanna’s music. This trio is like a melting pot of different cultures because it consists of musicians having various nationalities and musical backgrounds — Korean composer and pianist, Chilean drummer and Italian bassist. In this performance, the audience will experience varied and beautiful music by Mrstrio, which integrates Jazz and Crossover styles.Come and celebrate the release of Mrstrio’s single, “More More” which will be launched at midnight after the performance.
Phoebus Cartel are here to bring fresh neo-jazz sounds to the Good Will Club for an evening of soaring horn melodies and infectious grooves. With tunes poured from a melting pot of modern jazz, neo-soul with a touch of R&B this energetic quintet are back from hiatus and ready for good times. Come along to join the party and witness some home grown music like no other.Featuring: Claire Keet on saxophone, Jessica carlton on trumpet, Will Britto on keys, Kate Pass on bass and Giane Hladin on drums.
