About Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin
The 2020 release shows black pepper spice and darker berry characters, with the gin continuing to shine through. The ABV of this totally unique gin is 37.8%, unlike Sloe Gin where the alcohol is less than 30%. So it packs a punch and is ideal in a range of cocktails. The gin is unfiltered, so it will develop secondary fruit characters beyond two years, and is best consumed within two years of vintage.
Drink it young and fresh with red berry and spice characters, or enjoy it as it develops.
Each year Four Pillars take cool climate Shiraz grapes from the Yarra Valley and soak them in Rare Dry Gin for around eight weeks. The fruit is de-stemmed, the berries are kept whole, and the tanks are stirred daily. After eight weeks, the fruit is pressed to get the purple liquid and more Rare Dry Gin is added before bottling.
